History

The Acupuncture polyclinic was established for the first time at the university in 2002 by Prof. Dr. Cemal ÇEVİK in which the first official acupuncture course approved by the Ministry of Health was also opened. It continued on the basis of an acupuncture polyclinic providing acupuncture education until 2014. In this period acupuncture practice training was given to 474 physicians in 20-term courses. In 2014 Gazi University Acupuncture and Complementary Medicine Center was established in accordance with the Getat regulation issued by the Ministry of Health and training authorization was obtained from the Ministry of Health  in the branches of acupuncture, ozone therapy, cupping therapy, phytotherapy and mesotherapy. By the end of 2019, 707 physicians in 29 acupuncture courses, 210 in 12-term ozone courses, 189 in 9-term cup courses, and 13 physicians in 1 semester phytotherapy course received training and earned their practice certificates. 2 physicians continue their duties in the acupuncture polyclinic.
